• State tests are administered to students at grades 5, 8, and 10. Ninth graders receiving instruction to the CIM level may participate in state testing. Students in grades 11 and 12 who have not yet met the performance standard may re-take the CIM-level state test.

Notes:

  • The scientific inquiry scoring guide consists of the following four dimensions:
    • Forming a Question or Hypothesis
    • Designing (Designing an Investigation)
    • Collecting (Collecting and Presenting Data)
    • Analyzing (Analyzing and Interpreting Results)

  • In the 2005 - 2006 school year, additional criteria will be added in order to meet work sample requirements. For the 2005 - 2006 school year, the following performance standards will apply to scientific inquiry work samples.
