Subscription information can be more timely than print directories. Weekly newsletters are the most up-to-date. These are listed in order of their usefulness to Oregon schools.
- Education Grants Alert,
- $329/ yr., is a weekly report from Capitol Publishing Inc. on funding opportunities for K-12 programs. An occasional column "Funding Today" by Jaqueline Ferguson is helpful. For information call 1-800-655-5597.
- Aid for Education Report,
- $329/ yr., is a bimonthly report on news, views, federal and private grants. It is more useful for higher education than K-12. See the CD Publications Web site (http://www.cdpublications.com/) or call 1-800-666-6380.

A monthly newsletter focusing on funds for technology.CD-ROMs
These usually contain a great amount of searchable information, are designed for a wide range of non-profits, and include the entire United States. It is sometimes difficult to narrow the search as much as one would like. These are getting better but are still very expensive. For a preview of one in the single-user $300 price range, see The Foundation Center (http://fdncenter.org).
Oregon Libraries and Education Service Districts
Most Oregon public libraries will contain some grant information.
- Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Pacific Non-Profit Network (see below), Multnomah County Library in Portland, and the Oregon State Library in Salem, are all Foundation Center sites.
The Pacific Non-Profit Network (http://www.sou.edu/ecp/business/pnn.html) in Medford has a library of grant materials available for the use of school personnel without charge. It is located in the Rogue Valley Mall, 1600 N. Riverside, #1094, Medford, OR 97501.
Education Service Districts may also be a source of grant information and directories.
