Professional development and technical resources for the busy educator--
on time, any time, ahead of time . . . just in time.
About Us
Just In Time Training (JITT) is part of the OPEN Clearinghouse project and is sponsored by the Eugene Public School District 4J through a grant from the Oregon Department of Education. The project goal is to provide teachers and schools with high-quality resources for teaching and learning about the Web and ways to successfully integrate it into classroom instruction.
Guided by the results of our initial survey of Oregon K-12 educators, the JITT team has focused on the how to's of technology integration--for the Web novice, in the classroom, for the teacher, and at the district. We've developed, evaluated, selected, and annotated an array of training and technical assistance resources that will get you started, connect you with others, and lead you to further exploration. Selections were based on the project's site evaluation criteria and our desire to present a few excellent resources rather than endless lists.
Among our objectives were the creation of a model professional development Web site and development of a methodology for creating just-in-time training modules. These, and some of the lessons we learned along the way, are documented in our final project report which we hope will guide others as they embark on future projects.
We want the site to be continually evolving. You have a stake in this, too. As the Web and technology change, and as educators become more experienced with the use of technology for learning and teaching, we'll need your help in identifying new resources. You can use the Feedback button at the bottom of any page to send suggestions or to let us know how we've done and how we can do better.
We hope you find the JITT site easy to use, helpful, and that you will come back often.
