An on-demand assessment is composed of a selection or selections that have not yet been taught to students. Curriculum-embedded selections may also be used. The format might allow for margin notes beside the selection in addition to a series of open-ended questions following text. Completion of this type of work sample would generally be spread over two or three sessions on consecutive days.
